Uruguay national team player Lucas Torreira was one of those missing for the Gunners during their Premier League clash with Chelsea. The Uruguay international was not named in the Arsenal squad for that London Derby encounter with Chelsea.
Uruguayan international Torreira had an extended holiday this summer after representing his country at the Copa America tournament in Brazil. He was absent for the whole of preseason at Arsenal. Torreira joined the Gunners from Sampdoriathree seasons ago in a deal worth £26m. He has suitors in the Italian Serie A this summer in the form of AS Roma and Lazio. The two capital clubs want to sign the Uruguay player before this summer’s transfer window comes to an end.
Uruguay national team star Torreira was not involved in the first two Premier League games of the season for the Gunners. The two games ended with Arsenal losing by the same scoreline. Arsenal were beaten 2-0 at the home of newly promoted team Brentfordthanks to the goals from SergiCanos and Christian Norgaard either side of the halftime interval.
Arsenal then lose 2-0 at home to Chelsea in their second game of the new Premier League campaign with RomeluLukaku and Reece James getting the goals for the away team.
