The immense success has seen Barcelona provideBartomeu with another opportunity at the helm. Upon taking over, he has given his gratitude to the most important players who are responsible for the treble won by the club. Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi, and Neymar former an impeccable partnership that led to Barcelona scoring at will. More importantly, they were extremely solid at the back and this was not something that used to be a trait of the Pep Guardiola teams. Last season, Barcelona scored a record 122 league goals and a majority of them were from Suarez, Messi, and Neymar.
Bartomeu believes that the club will have FIFA Ballon d’Or award winner and it is likely to be among these three. “Messi, Suarez and Neymar deserve to be the finalists for the Fifa Ballon d’Or,” said Bartomeu.“He is starting the season from the beginning. Last season, we all know, he could not play until October and that was a handicap.This year he has the extra motivation of starting the competition from the beginning. He has done a very good pre-season in every match he played. He has just confirmed what we know when we signed him last season, he is a top player devoted to the team,” said manager Luis Enrique about Suarez.
